We got the rocking chair today... actually today was a big shopping day. We started they day with IHOP then went and got the chair including the curtains and a bunch of one pieces. Then we went to borders and I bought a book on diabetes. The other big buy was a GUINEA PIG... He's so cute, we named him Dunkin. I know it seems silly to get ANOTHER animal but guinea pigs are social animals they need a friend. We had an obligation to our little strudel after he lost his cage mate, flip flop. You could tell Strudel was a bit lonely, normally he's afraid of the dogs and us but now he'd come running out of his hut just to see the dogs. He seems real happy with Dunkin, he was making his happy squeaks all night long. Dunkin was quiet, he needs some time to adjust.

After we set them up and monitored them a bit I read about what I can and can't eat... and it was off to Genardi's. We got all kinds of healthy foods, whole grains, low sugar, low cal, low carb... basically we strived to stick with whole foods. I was surprised to see that a diabetic diet mainly consists of plain old eating healthier. It's really a way of life that everyone should adapt. Stop eating all the white breads, sugary candy, sodas and look for hidden Sugars in all these so called healthy products. I thought I was doing well with my eating habits but I guess it wasn't good enough.

I believe "gestational" diabetes may be a bit stricter. I may have to also stay away from the "good" carbs. Like milk, fruit and some veggies. If I do in fact have it they'll give me a list. For now though I'm getting a good start. It's only ten weeks I'll survive. BUT I do intend to follow the "less-strict" diet after Quinn is born.

After all of that, Tony and I watched "white noise". I'm really, really into ghosts and I was disappointed in this movie. They were so interested in making twist and turns in the plot that they took the "ghost story" right out of it.
