It seems I have either pulled or torn my meniscus. I got up out of a chair one Friday afternoon and felt a pop in the back of my knee but it was a pain that left as soon as it came so I thought nothing of it. It wasn’t until Sunday morning that I woke up with pain in my leg, mostly the back of my knee. I could only keep my leg in a slightly bent position. The next day majority of the pain went away but I could still not bend my leg and there was fluid build up all around my knee. I went to a chiropractor because my general doctor said he could do nothing unless he got an ex-ray, which I refused. I had an x-ray for my tooth while pregnant I wasn’t about to do it again. So the Chiropractor felt my leg and concluded it was most likely my meniscus and has referred me to an orthopedic surgeon. He said the good news is that since there was such a dramatic change in the pain from Sunday to Monday that it’s probably just hurt and not torn. I may need just a little physical therapy to build up more strength around the knee. Which is important because the doctor says since I’ve been going very easy on that leg for a few days that the muscles may give out suddenly. So they need to be strengthened!
