SASSAFRASCAL: The Story

Sunny Day, Five-year-old me.

Sunny Day, Five-year-old me.

My name is Emma Cline and I’m a graphic designer and digital artist from Findlay, OH.

It all began with some paper, crayons, and MS Paint. Yes, I was quite young when I started my digital art career. I’ve included a piece I made at age five to give you an idea of the MS Paint mastery that I once wielded.

I have vastly improved since my early years as is evident in my portfolio. From a very early age, I’ve loved drawing. I’ve loved creating and making new things. I’ve always taken my art seriously and tried to improve wherever I could. The pandemic spurred me on to start my business, SASSAFRASCAL ART LLC and I started taking on freelance work.

As an adult, figuring out how to turn my love of art into a career was a challenge. After many twists and turns, I finally landed on graphic design and graduated from Bowling Green State University with my BFA in 2025. During my time at BGSU, I had come to love the logical, practical side of design and found ways to blend my digital art into it. I’m excited for what the future holds, but most of all, I’m excited that I get to create.
